I dont want to be a downer, but I have read a lot of articles on brazilian hair treatments and they dont seem to be very healthy for you to have done. Studies show that salons in NY use up to 10x the amount of formaldehyde then the FDA allows. Some salons wont do them anymore because their stylists were getting sick in the long term from the exposure to these treatments. I would google the term 'Brazilian Hair Straightening' and read up before you go.
p.s. - I like the hairstyle

Re: Tomorrow
thats funny you say that because I did research it and it does not use any chemicals like the japaneese straightning system. It said that it adds keratin to glaze your hair to get the frizz out and that it isnt actually a straightning product.
I have been going to my hair girl for years and she has it done also so I really do trust her, plus I have had everything you couyld imagine done to haair already so I am not to nervous, my hair is very resiliant.
Thanks for your concern though

Re: Tomorrow
Any article I have read said that it has formaldehyde in it which is a carcinogen. I just wanted to make sure you were aware. Be careful.

To be honest, I remember reading some not too great things about them too. Why don't you see how you feel about your hair once you cut it? Usually that alone makes your hair feel more healthy. Then see if you still feel like you need it. Oh, and I love the cut...think it will be really nice. You have a natural curl to your hair?
ETA: If you trust your girl and have been going to her a long time, then that helps. She wouldn't steer you wrong.

I had it done 2 weeks ago it was the best thing ever. You can see in my old pics how curly my hair was now it is soooo straight I love it. I have to say sometimes I miss my curly hair.

Re: Tomorrow
My sister in law's aunt actually had it done about a month ago - not sure where, some place in the city I think. She really really likes it, but they told her not to use hair elastics (even the covered ones by Goody and what not) b/c there is some sort of chemical reaction and it can actually break the hair shaft, so be careful w/the rubberbands. Use a claw clip, thats what she does.

Good luck. Whatever you decide. I think the cut would look great on you. Wavy or straight.
