Tonight...

I MADE SUSHI
i'm so proud...they were perfect little rolls, stuffed with avocado, cucumber, carrot and celery.. i even made...WASABI!!! and my sticky rice...perfectly sticky. ladies, i just wanted to share my pride. my culinary repetoire is improving!!!

i don't like sushi, but it sounds like it came out perfect!!!

Brava...sushi is not the easiest thing to make. And wasabi too??? Very cool

Teach me! Teach me! I have sushi plates and books and I've never used either and I'm dying to!

OOOHHH!!! How did you make your sticky rice? I made some yesterday, and it was too sweet!! Help!

You are so excited...it makes me want to run out and get some Sushi!!!

it was actually easy. i rinsed the rice. then for 2 cups of rice, i used 2 1/4 cups rice. usually with rice i use a 1:2 ratio, but this rice called for less. i cooked it and then put it in a ceramic bowl and stirred it and added about 2 tbs of rice wine vinegar. then i sliced up the veggies into thin little slices. this let the rice cool. then i took a bowl of water for my hands. i put the nori down, wet my hands, spread the rice all over, put the veggies on the long side closest to me, started rolling, packed it down tight with the bamboo sheet, then cut in the middle and cut those in the middle and cut those in the middle. the wasabi was equal parts powder and water. it was time consuming, but relatively easy!
