i'm excited but have no idea what to expect ... can i go in wearing sneakers and sweat pants?
we're going to John from Ballroom Dance LI for a trial lesson, and if we like him, we'll book more lessons

You can go in sweat pants, but not sneakers- they are too grippy. I'd wear flats or, if you're brave, heels that have a little slide to them.

You should wear your wedding shoes. So you can get used to them.

no sneakers - I wear a shoe similar to my wedding shoes, and out last few lessons before the wedding I am going to wear my wedding shoes
have so much fun!!! I love dance!!

have funnnn! exciting. I think sweats would be fine, but I would think you should practice in your heels, no? I never did that before though

I would wear at least a little heel.
Not huge heels.
But at least a little. No use learning to dance in flats if you aren't wearing them to dance your first dance in.

I'd wore boots with heels for our first lesson. I brought my wedding shoes, but John told me not to wear them for the first lesson. I started weaing them at the second one and have been wearing them since. John is awesome, I'm sure you'll love him.

I agree. I'd definitely wear heels! (And if you feel like sporting them with sweat pants, who cares? That's what the girls wear sometimes while practicing on Dancing with the Stars.) I'd personally wear stretch pants though... not as much material and won't fall down.
Where are you girls taking dance lessons? I live in Eastern Suffolk and am SO interested in dance lessons, but don't know where to go... and also don't have a ton of extra money in the budget.
