I just finished a big-azz aper for school and I'm ready to crack open a bottle of beer.
Do I have a problem?!

Re: too early for a drink?
NO not at all, i need one bad too. Last night i go to use my debit card and it didnt go through, it was on the LIRR machines and thishappens so didnt think of it, then this morning again...I knew something was wrong and i knew i had more than enough money in checking...Well i call my bank and there was a hold on my account...they told me who put the hold and gave me the number.
Its a debt collector, uhmmm yeah i had no clue what this was about, see i havent had a cc in YEARS after i messed up when i was younger. I speak to the lady there and she tells me the CC its about. Im like when was this bc i havent had a card in years, she checks and sees oh its from 2001. Im like well how do you put my bank account on hold and not send me notices first. She said they sent out many notices, and then asked if so and so was my address, NOOOO i moved years ago from there, and considering its an account from 2001 maybe just maybe i moved since then...she at first was like uhmmm well did you forward you address, YES I DID!!! i changed my license and did everything i had to do, i get all my mail at this address and have for years. I was seriously fuming this morning, i just wanted to hit somebody.
Well anyways she did a settlement with me and its not a bad settlement but honestly i didnt want to pay that RIGHT NOW!!! i have a payment to give to our hall this month, and i just got my income tax return and was so happy bc it was only for 3 months but got alot more back than i expected, even as much as FH who got it for the whole year...AHHHHH i was gonna give it all to my RH.
ok sorry, I just had to vent!!! the worst part is that soon that would've been off my record, wrong to say but oh well.

Ohh, that s*cks Denise! That happened to me once. Apparently I had this card and used it to buy something expensive in college and I never got a bill and I guess drinking too much in college totally made me forget about it. They had the wrong address on file to my college address, but I have no idea how I got the card...anyway they called me like a year and a half later telling me that I owe them $600. They sent me the statements and they were right, so I paid them but it sucked to drain that money unexpectedly!
I feel for you!
BTW - Have a huge drink! Its Thursday and its afternoon, so consider it a long happy hour!

Re: too early for a drink?
Saturday my landlord had his landscapers come to do work in the backyard. It was about 9:30 and FH goes out to get the paper and the landscape guys ask him if he has any beer... he gave them each a Bud Light, but IT WAS 9:30 IN THE MORNING!!!
FYI Bon, when I was in college, HH started promptly at 2pm! And according to my clock it's 2:16! You're good to go!

you better check and make sure that didnt go on your credit report. I had something similar happen to me when a friend who used my CC cancelled her cell phone acct too early. She owed them money so the collection agency was sending ME letters at HER house. Since she used my CC I was pinned to that account. I had to fight to get it taken off my credit report as a delinquency.
