the next thing on my list was going to be a florist
however, a recent bride (my MOH) told me i should wait for my season (so i can see what flowers are out) AND for my dress ( i didnt even think they had anything to do with eachother!)
Recently, a friend spoke to a florist at a bridal showcase and they told her the same exact thing
dont get my wrong - i know that i can book my florist whenever i want - i was just wondering what you ladies thought about this?? should i wait until january?
THANKS!!!!!!!!!

Re: too early for a florist?
Something to think about is if you do it before January, you might be able to lock in 2006 prices.
I booked my florist just over a year in advance.

I think as long as you know your style/theme of your wedding I think you can go ahead and do it. I was thinking of doing that soon too. You can pretty much go onlone and look up what is in season, that won't change.

I booked all of my vendors 2 yrs in advance. Believe it or not...alot of vendors were booked that far ahead. Go for it whenever you are ready!

i think the sooner the better just so your rates get locked in! Also if you book now....go next yr at that time and see if they can make u a sample.

Just know this. Any florist can get any flower and any time. They will charge you for it but they can do it. Trust me - I got married in the dead of winter.

Book it now. You don't have to decide when you book the exact flowers you want. You can always change what you want -- make sure your contract says so.
If you use Burton's you can change the flowers up to 2 weeks before hand. They charge the same price no matter what type of flower you use unless its something really exotic.

If you find a florist that you really like book them now. When your colors come in then you can pick centerpieces!
