My fiance and I are going to Target tonight to start our gift registry. Do you think it is too early to do that?

Me too, we plan to register in the fall sometime. A lot of things get discontinued I heard, if you do it too far in advance. Then you can always just add more!

I'm not registering until next year, I think its too early. Nobody is buying us anything until the shower and thats probably in March. I dont want to register, it get discontinued and then re-register

I registered right away because my Fmil's friends wanted to get us gifts after we got engaged. Not too many people have bought things but we did get a few.

from an 08'er who's been through this...I personally would NOT register now..i registered a year before and i regretted it...my registry has changed completely since then (i.e. I changed my mind on things, added, deleted things, and some things were discontinued). I would wait until about your six month mark to register

We started registering at Fortunoff's already bc they pretty much have the same things all the time. I might wait a while if you're going to do Target only bc their stuff seems to change a lot.

No its not to early. I registered months ago. My family and friends bought me E-gifts, X-mas and birthday gifts from it. It is great to do early so Imeddiate family can buy you presents. My FMIL and mother bought me my complete Pfaltzgraff dish set.

I am getting married the day before you and I registered already b/c people kept getting us engagement gifts and little gifts when they knew they were going to see us...so it makes it easier...
Just keep in mind especially with Target a lot of the stock is going o change between now and then, so maybe start off small.

No not too early, some people may want to get you engagement gifts! So that is perfect. In my book it is never too early to start checking things off your list!!!!!!!

We registered for our Eparty since all of our guests were asking. We actually got quite a few things from the registry. Our taste is pretty traditional, so I'm pretty sure most of our selections will be available next year. The only thing that probably won't be is our luggage. Oh well!
