These two Dallas teens were turned away from their prom because their dresses were 'too hot' for prom. If you click on the link below there's 18 pictures to click through. Do you think the school was being unfair, or do you think it was justified?
i do think those dresses are a bit inappropriate for Prom, however, I see kids dressed like that on a daily basis at the HS... so if they are able to dress like that everyday for school, they probably should have been warned of a dress code for prom so they would have known better...

if you click through the pictures, there are images of 'do's and donts' for prom dresses that the school gave out, and clearly these girls violated the dress code. however, the girls also presented pictures of other girls AT prom who violated the dress code but were still allowed in. i think its fine to impose a dress code for prom, but it needs to be applied consistently and uniformly across the board.

Re: Too Hot for Prom?
if they were forewarned by the high school with a picture dos and donts list then theres no excuse...they had every right to be kicked out!
If they didnt, then i would be all on their side but they do look ho-ish. Looks like they bought their dresses as Giggles or someplace like that

Re: Too Hot for Prom?
I just don't understand the trend of dressing like a ho for prom. My prom dress was sexy but very clasy...

Re: Too Hot for Prom?
Those dresses are pretty trashy, but there were other girls at the prom with just as trashy dresses from the pics. So it wasn't fair that they got singled out. But who lets their kids go to prom looking like that. I'm sure mom and dad weren't snapping pics of them before they left.

IMO- there is no reason a HS senior needs to be wearing such sexy clothing. Their boobs were popping out all over. Very inappropriate. This was a school function and it further demonstrates kids views

Re: Too Hot for Prom?
they really looked like hookers.
the other photos were taken of girls as they were dancing. There was 1 that I think had a droopy top because of the motion. but, I did see 2 others that were also inappropriate- the low cut red gown and the 2 piece pink gown. Those 2 should also have been kicked out.

Re: Too Hot for Prom?
Very innappropriate! That pink dress seriously looked like something a stripper would wear! Those dresses were in direct violation of the school dress code. There were definitely a few others though that should have been kicked out. For the life of me, I don't understand how parents let their children walk out of the house like that!!

I noticed that. They clearly did violate the dress code, but like you said, they showed pics of other girls that were allowed in that also clearly violated the dress code (IE: The girl with the plunging neckline). If you're going to enforce something, you have to do it for everybody. It's ridiculous that they let some people in, but not them.

But the last picture with the do's shows a plunging neckline was alloowed it was that a neckline with side cutouts and stomach cutouts wasnt allowed

Re: Too Hot for Prom?
I don't think the bigger girl in the red dress voilated the policy.
But the one girl with the pink dress looked exactly like one of the dresses in the DONT section.

Re: Too Hot for Prom?
As a high school teacher, I am amazed at what parents allow their children to wear to school. I would have never been able to go to Prom dressed like that
