Too much food!

DH took a day off from work today. I gave him the job of ordering some food for us for thanksgiving- we keep kosher, and his family doesn't and this is the first year where we have to make the whole meal for ourselves. I give DH a call and he informs me that he order the meal that feeds 12 PEOPLE! We are 2! What am I going to do with 3 pans of mashed potatos, 3 quarts of soup, a giant turkey! ack:

Re: Too much food!

That is a lot! Can you donate some of it maybe? I saw something on news 12 this morning they are short on food @ a soup kitchen I believe in Hempstead somewhere. Not too sure what they are looking for (in the lines of cooked or non cooked food) but just a suggestion.
Another suggestion is can you change your order?

Great idea -- I do not know where you are, but if you are near NYC there are great charities (I am involved with one in particular -- FM me for info) that if it is wrapped will be only too please to take it to homeless folks and feed them for the holiday. Some of it will freeze as well.
