Okay- so FH and I just went to a travel agent last night to try to book our honeymoon. We wanted to do a Meditteranian Cruise for 12 nights however it is $11000!!! And thats not including drinks. Does anyone have any ideas on where to go other than the Carribeian that is all inclusive. I anted to do sight seeing and see a little more 'culture' other than only beaches.

Try Cruises to Mexico. You can see the ruins and they have tons to see and do.

Hmmm that doesnt seem so bad. Dont forget you will need spending $$ and excursion $$ but oveall those cruises are a great way to see alot of beautiful places!
I however did not splurge on my HM....would have but the wedding was just TOO much. We spent about $6500 total in St. Lucia.

FH doesnt want to do Mexico or the D.R. My budget is about $6000-$7000 all inclusive.

Check out Iberostar Resorts--they have several all inclusives in Europe and Northern Africa
i don't know how much that will cost--but that was the first one i thought of, off the top of my head.

Ask your TA about them.

unfortunately you are going to be traveling during a peak time--so prices will be $$$$
my TA is AWESOME.....they are a vendor on here. In & Out Travel -- Dream Destinations--I would email David and tell him your budget and where you want to go--and see what they can find.
Have you looked into Travel Tom with American Express? many brides swear by him.

for a cruise its alot bc like you said you dont get to see as much...plus food is included but most cruises the drinks aren't included so you still spend on the cruise...and its only the dining hall that is included if you want to do another restaurant you might have to spend money on food. Plus when you get off the ship, you will spend money at the places you are visiting. Most of the time on a cruise, any place you stop at the times usually are from 7am-4pm or maybe 9am-5pm, youll see that seems about the average time. So while youre there you will get hungry and might want to stop and get food. Plus activities are extra. Don't get me wrong cruises can be so much fun, dh and i went on a cruise 2 years ago and had an amazing time, but i wouldn't have spent $11k
I went to europe on my honeymoon and spent less than that...we went to spain and monaco. We got to really be at both places and experience it and see alot. With airfare, hotel, even had car service pick us up from the airport and also come to the hotel to take us the airport it was a few thousand less than what you were quoted

Re: Too Much for a Honeymoon
That just seems really expensive... FH and I are going to Thailand during peak season for 10 days and that is what we are spending, but that includes really expensive airfare and our own hotel/house and a private pool. Would you consider waiting a few months to do you HM? You might get better deals if you are not going right in the middle of peak season, but maybe waiting until the tail end.

Re: Too Much for a Honeymoon
That's about the same price for traveling to Bora Bora nic food & drinks (which was our original destination). FH & I didn't want to spend that much on HM since so much $$ is invested in the wedding itself and it was really important to him that's it was all inclusive so we got both......Ladera which reminds me of Bora Bora and Sandals all inclusive (St. Lucia).
Your travel agent should work within your budget. Travel Tom is great, you should try him.
