I am getting married in May 2005. Is it too soon for me to start make-up trials?

i just had mine in july (i had my trial done for the e-pics) my wedding is in nov!

i would wait, but that is just me! do it when you have the time

Personally I don't think it's too soon for things like this. You know your own schedule and if you want to get an idea of who you are using now, I say go for it! I always think it's better to get these ideas early so you aren't in a rush and you can find what you really like.

I work f/t, take 6 grad credits a semester and travel for work so I know I will have some time in Oct. I know of two artists I want to try but do not want to do anything too soon.

nope. i am getting married in june and doing my first one this week.

I thought it was insane to focus on makeup and hair this early (don't have a dress yet!) But i found alot of people were booked up at the one year mark and it freeked me out!

I am just going to have her do my hair the way i think I want it done, and see how she does makeup - and then I will most likely book them and worry about changing my 'look' later. I just care that they are competant.

i've been wondering the same thing. i would ideally like to wait, but i'm worried that the makeup artists will be booked if i don't act soon!

how far in advance do they generally book up?

I have been surprised by how quickly people book so that made me nervous. It feels soon but I would hate to miss out on a great make up artist.

Not too early. I had mine in April 2003 and my wedding was in May 2004. They book up early.

I'm getting married the week before you, and I think i'm going to go for a trial in the middle of October. If you want someone specific you should start looking into booking them.

When i get mine done, i think i'm going to go for my engagement pics the same day!

I am getting married 3 weeks before you and I am calling to make appointmentsfor trials this week. I don't think it's too early.

No, it couldn't hurt to start now. I started to get nervous and went to book trials a month ago to find out that the 2 I wanted trials with were booked on my wedding day, 16 days after you. The 2nd wound up having a cancellation so I snatched her up!

I conducted my search and had my trials last February, about 7-8 months before the wedding. So, no, it isn't too soon to start looking. Popular months tend to book up fast (sometimes up to a year in advance).

I would start looking whenever you have the chance... make up artists get booked very quickly...

I started trials 6 months b4 my wedding & my 1st choice was booked already....and my wedding was in January!
