Too Soon

So, my Mom has been begging me to update my registry almost every day for the past two weeks. I didn't want it to be a surprise at all, but she told me that she was at least going to hold off on telling me for a while. I questioned her last night about it and she said 'A number of undisclosed persons want you to be surprised.' So it looks like I have no choice. However, my wedding is October 15th. Isn't it a little too soon for my shower?? She's really acting like it'll be soon.
