My dress came in and I scheduled my first fitting for this Wednesday, the 9th. The salesperson said that it is a little early fir a first fitting and that they don't usually do them until one month before the wedding. To me, that is way to late to just start altering the dress. I need it to be hemmed and the halter straps shortened and cups sewn in...
Is 7 weeks too early for a 1st fitting??
Thanks! Erin

Re: Too Soon for First Fitting?
it is a little early but if thats how u feel cmfortablr then dont stress it. ast leastthis way u will know that u got it done and its another thing off ur plate. The reason that they usually do them the month b4 is cuz lots of brides loose weight and then it has to get altered again.

Re: Too Soon for First Fitting?
My first fitting was the end of March for my May 12th wedding. I think you need at least 7 weeks which is fine. I was supposed to have a total of 3 fittings, spread out with 2-3 weeks of time. Well guess what, I needed a 4th fitting! I'm finally all set. You should be fine :)

Re: Too Soon for First Fitting?
It sounds like you are going to need some work done, so I don't think it is too early by the time they do everything you will still need a few fittings. I say keep the appt.

i gave my dress in already 2 weeks ago because it needs A LOT of work- ive lost a good amount of weights since i purchased my dress so thats why i gave it in so early- i say its fine that you gave it in now- dont stress over it!

No, I do not think it is early. How many all together will you have? If you have 3 or 3 fiiting, I think it is quite on time

Re: Too Soon for First Fitting?
I don't think it is to early for your first fitting. As you stated, there are a few alterations that need to be corrected. If you want to go for a fitting, go for it!

Re: Too Soon for First Fitting?
My first dress fitting is next Saturday and my wedding isn't until August 2nd. I don't think it is too early. I want to lose a little more weight before the wedding, but I figured she could at least start working on the length because I know I will not get any taller before the wedding!

Re: Too Soon for First Fitting?
It is not too early. I wish I had the extra time for my fittings but they said to start 1 month prior and it has been nothing but a headache trying to work around my schedule and their schedule. If you feel comfortable with your weight and comfortable witht he fact that you wont go up or down then go for it

agreed...I would think that your first fitting should be 6 - 8 weeks before your wedding. one month before your wedding, I think you should just be tweeking your already fitted dress
