Id feel the same,, I also noticed that when u get engaged , sometimes u get treated different from the people you thought would be most happy for ya,,

I don't blame you. I would feel slighted as well. But all I can say is that some people are selfish and only like to receive. Now for the future, you know what to give........nothing.

i dont blame you i would feel the same way. sorry you had to deal with this but from now on you know not to do anything for her or give anything

So sorry to hear that, I empathize with you. It's truly not really about the gift but about the thought. Even if they send a card, it would mean alot. The fact that they didn't also says alot unfortunately. I would rethink being so generous with them in the future.

I also have a close relative who also does well for herself but she's also not generous when it comes to gift giving. I had a shower recently and she came but didn't even give a card or anything. She has also been stingy in the past with gifts although she's very quick to show to others that she has money - she buys a luxury cars every few years and carries expensive designer bags. :P

I know how you feel...FH's side has not even sent us a card.... it would just be nice to know they were thinking of us

There are plenty of people who haven't sent us cards....and I think it was because they are waiting for our engagement party.

Did you have an engagement party yet? Or do you plan on having one?

Not that I think having an engagement party is the only reason someone who's close to you should send you a card. Considering all the opportunities you've taken to show her your generosity (with time & money) she should have realized this was a perfect time to show her gratitude for all you've done for her, by at least sending a card to you.

I see your point! But you gave the gifts because you wanted too ! you were not looking for a gift in return when you gave it!
