OK so, Im new to this whole thing but I am having such a hard time on making any final decisions. We have picked out our top 3 locations the fox hollow, venetian yatch club, and the inn at new hyde park. Does anyone have any pictures, feed back, or comments for these three halls??? NEXT... I was totally set on a fall wedding LOVE the dark reds and golds very romantic and intimate but... now Im totally excited about maybe a NEW YEARS EVE WEDDING !! What does everyone think... I was totally thinking black, reds, and silver... formal black tie... and maybe sparklers, NYE hatts etc... BUT my major worry is the risk in weather, what does everyone think?? Im so confused...HELP

Re: Top 3...HELP!
I recently went to a function at The Inn @ NHP.
One word....AMAZING!
The food was great, the staff was superb, everything was amazing.
I said, if I wasn't already married, I'd get married there!
When planning my wedding I did goto Fox Hollow and VYC (though it was John Anthony's at the time). I had minor issues with the two. Fox Hollow, the room we would have had (I think the Fox Room) was too 'dark' for my taste. I also didn't like the pilars in the room. VYC, was nice, but rumors were running around about it being sold and there was no guarantee that it would stay as a catering hall (we now know that's not true), also DH nixed it b/c it was on the water and he (knowing we were set on a summer wedding) was afraid it'd be humid and we wouldn't be able to enjoy the outdoor parts.

Re: Top 3...HELP!
I don't have any feedback on the three places, but I went to a New Years Eve wedding a couple of years ago (FH's uncle, in PA) and it was AWESOME. The ceremony was at 8 I think, and then the CH and Reception directly followed and went until I think 2 am! We had a BLAST! It was great b/c everyone has the next day off and people are really ready to party that night!

Re: Top 3...HELP!
i've heard great things about all of those places Fox hollow was actually one of our top choices, SIL got married at VYC, and i've heard the inn at nhp is BEEAUUTIFUL! so i'm of no help with that lol...BUT i say definetly 100% go for the new years eve wedding!(and this is coming from a girl who actually wanted a fall wedding!)... My cousin had a new years eve wedding and there are just so many unique things u could do to make it amazing & unforgettable! Her colors were either black & silver or black & gold...but it was AWESOME..and it makes the night very formal :) She even had a balloon drop at midnight! SOO much fun...go for it! be different!

You can read even more reviews if you do a search for each Reception Hall in the Bride's Review Forum

I'm partial to being on the water, so I'd vote for VYC. If water isn't a concern, they are all beautiful places.

I had my engagement party at VYC. It was amazing. Everything went off without a hitch. The place is beautiful and they really treat you like royalty. There are a few pics in my album. FM me if you would like me to send you more. Good luck!

I would say the Inn @ NHP. Its new and fresh. The colors are neutral in there. A NYE wedding sounds awesome!

Re: Top 3...HELP!
I went to weddings at Fox Hollow and Venetian and both places are beautiful. I felt that Fox Hollow was more my taste though-just personal preference. I've been to NHP Inn but not since it's been redone. Hear it's amazing!

Re: Top 3...HELP!
those 3 are all really amazing places! so any one you chose you will have a beautiful wedding, its just more of what youre personal preference is.
just becareful with the pricing because i know some halls charge ridiculous amounts for a new years eve wedding. westbury manor quoted me $150-180 a person. i cant remember the exact price but it was absurd, and keep in mind new years eve is on a wednesday going into 2009 and i still got quoted that. i dont know about those halls though.
but a new years eve wedding would be awesome. it would be so much fun because usually everyones off the next day and people plan to stay up late and party anyways!

I booked my wedding at the INN @ NHP. I went to the Venetian and looked at it. The Rugs smelt really bad. I also shopped Crest Hollow. I would go with The Inn. It's one wedding at the time. It's def more pricey but i think it's worth it. Good luck

I've been to a wedding at Fox Hollow, never been to the other 2 but LOVED the Fox Hollow. The food was geat and I really couldnt say anything bad about the place. I personally love the fall for a wedding b/c of the weather/colors but I think that a New Years Eve wedding would be so much fun. Cant wait to hear what you picked
