I was totally set on a fall wedding LOVE the dark reds and golds very romantic and intimate but... now Im totally excited about maybe a NEW YEARS EVE WEDDING !! What does everyone think... I was totally thinking black, reds, and silver... formal black tie... and maybe sparklers, NYE hatts etc... BUT my major worry is the risk in weather, what does everyone think?? Im so confused...HELP

IMO a New Years wedding is beautiful and the color scheme you are talking about would be gorgeous, but seriously think about the weather. In January you can get anything from a bright sunny comfortable day to a blizzard where no one not even yourself will be able to go anywhere....do you really want to be stressed about that from now until then. You are safer in the fall JMO. Good Luck!

Re: TOP 3...HELP!!!
Your wedding idea sounds fabulous!
I'm booked at the Inn at New Hyde Park and I have to say that for FH and I, nothing else compared. We worked with Frank (hes the general managing partner) and he really takes pride in his RH.
The menu there CANNOT be beat - 7 entree choices for the guests! Since the Inn is a restuarant, you know that you will be getting phenomenal food. The chef is actually another one of the owners...you'll be getting a good meal everytime! We eat there at least once a week.
Also, their weddings are one at a time and they make it very intimate. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos, but go on www.innatnhp.com. They just put up a new site and have a ton of videos as well as photos. The menu is also on there.
In the end, it's really all about what YOU love the most. GOOD LUCk!

Re: TOP 3...HELP!!!
I got married at the Venetian Yacht Club. Take a look at my review, it was fabulous!
Just my two cents on a New Years Wedding...I personally would be really annoyed if I got invited to a NYE wedding, unless it was someone I was extremely close to. Just my 2 cents, I know that everyone feels differently about holiday weddings, I just happen to think that it's inconsiderate to ask someone to give up their holiday to come to your wedding.

Re: TOP 3...HELP!!!
While I like the idea of NYE wedding - I went to a friend's Jan wedding and it snowed that day. We live 45 min away from the hall and it took us almost 2 hrs to get there! Once the wedding started I noticed that half the seats were empty because of no-shows.... no one wanted to go out in the ice and snow! And it was ICE AND SNOW! I wore my snow boots with my dress and only changed into heels once I was inside the hall. That would be my biggest concern.... rain is one things... but snow and ice.... totally another thing

Re: TOP 3...HELP!!!
I would stick to the fall wedding... not only just because of the weather, but also because I like to have holidays and special occasions...call me crazy but I made sure my wedding date was not close to any other special occasion in our lives, ie: birthdays, anniversaries...lol. I like having something different every month! :)

Re: TOP 3...HELP!!!
p.s.... I have a hard time making decisions too, but you have to pick something and just go with it, it really makes wedding planning so much easier--so I am learning!!

I got married at Fox Hollow. Take a look at my review! No major problems and everyone had a great time.
