Check out the website above - it gives you the report card - (click at the District Comprehensive Report) you can see the percentages of ethnic groups in each district. You can also see how much poverty is in the area by the % of students who are eligible for 'Free or reduced lunch'.

I teach in Nassau County and I have spent a lot of time researching this stuff.

In my opinion the best districts:
Bellmore - Merrick
Bethpage
East Williston
Great Neck
Herricks
Hewlet - Woodmere
Jericho
Manhasset
Massapequa
North Shore
Plainview-Old Bethpage
Rockville Center
Syosset
Wantagh

Good Luck - at least this gives you plenty of options!

Massapequa 23
Seaford 6
Wantagh
Merrick

Cold Spring Harbor & Half Hollow Hills are up there too.

I teach in Half Hollow Hills...technically it is in Suffolk but right on the border. Some kids who live in Farmingdale and just over the border of Nassau come to our schools.

Nassau Schools that I know are really good:

Syosset (our AP and a few other teachers in my district all have kids in this school district)

Plainview

Bellmore-Merrick

Thank you all sooo much!!!!

This has turned out to be a very informative thread..... definitly worth it to Bump every now and again for our house shoppers!!!
