I am so sorry.... That happened to a good friend of mine a couple years ago - his ex-GF commit suicide right after they broke up! (She made some attempts while they were tiogether as well)

After she died, I was living in Vermont at the time, and my friend came up for a week and stayed with me.

there really was nothing I could say, I discovered. He just needed to talk when he wanted to, and he also needed to know it was ok for him to just sit next to me and not say anything...

It was a long hard process for him - but he wound up getting involved very deeply in the american suicide association (I forgot the official name,) their night time walk, and their support groups.

He's a musician, he wound up writing songs for their documentary.

good luck! Losing someone so young is very hard - my FH lost his best friend last year at 38 years old - he was in deep mourning for a while. Once again, the only thing I could do was be there for him...

Many for your FH and his ex's family. Suicide is a very hard thing to cope with and to understand.
