Never heard of it. I've never gotten a favor for an event I didnt go to. I'm not going to do it.

Never heard of it either!!! I dont think I am going to do it either...I will hae enough keeping up with all of the Thanks You's nevermind shipping favors.

I've only gotten thank you notes from showers that I did not attend (but sent gifts to)!

I've heard of this! My parents told me about this when they declined a wedding invite but sent a gift. The bride and groom sent them the favor with the thank you.

I usually receive favors when I send a gift but do not attend the event.

i have heard of this too but im not doing it.. we are having cupcake favors so it wont be easy to save a ship....

We've gotten favors before from sending wedding gifts and not going to the party, but never from bridal or baby showers.

really?? I've never heard of this and have sent a gift and not shown to a wedding and didnt get squat. I ordered extra favors but will not be sending them to people who dont show.

Pretty sure this is an old school tradition.

Like back in the day at Italian weddings where you would go up to the bride on a receiving line and get handed a favor when you handed her your envelope
