I just received a check from my sisters mother in law (who is not attending the wedding) My sister had mentioned that her mother in law would mail me a card and a little something...she sent us $500

that was nice of her, and you really will be surprised but that people give to you! i would have done the same thing you did, deposited the check as soon as i got it, not because i think people are going to think that i am broke, but because i dont like messing with people's balances in their checking accounts.

This!I hate when people wait months to cash a check! I just would make sure to get a thank you card out right away.

very nice. We got a TON of people who couldn't make it, and only 1 gift sent later (a giftcard to Macy's) from one of his cousins. Very nice of her to do so.
