Torn about flowers (Pedestals, Flowers by Brian, J*** and R***)
As a CHCC bride, I have to use their house florists. The other two are Spitz and Peck and Fluers di Florissima which are expensive. Out of these 3, I hear that J*** and R*** is the cheapest. Should I even bother meeting with Flowers by Brian and Pedestals? Did anyone meet with J*** and R**** and feel that they are not cheaper than the others?

i booked with pedestals....i told them what my budget was and they worked with me to get what i wanted for the price i wanted

Def go to pedestals. That is who I used and the price wasn't that bad. I dno wat u are looking for but they deff will help u

I didn't realize that you had to pick a CHCC vendor...did your BM tell you this??

I've never heard of something so ludicrous...why do you HAVE to use one of their house floral vendors?! I think if I was forced to use a particular vendor and not choose what WE wanted, I would be pretty pissed and possibly think about changing RH's where I would have the freedom to choose the vendors I want....JMHO...

Yeah it's a PITA especially since everyone on this site seems to say that these are the pricey florists. Basically CHCC just started this rule in early 2009. Anyone who signed a contract with them before that time is grandfathered in (and can use whoever they want). They told me about this before I signed the contract so I'm not shocked or anything. They said that they had nightmare experiences with random florists that people brought in and hence the new rule. I just wish that their house florists were cheaper.

Yeah my BM told me about this. I called today and spoke with a different BM (because mine was off today). I had a question about the florist thing and he confirmed that they started doing this in early 2009.

Just an FYI, you can choose whoever you want for other vendors. The florist is the only one that they are adamant about. (I don't want to start rumors on this site.)

i reccomend Robert from Pedestals...but i say def look at all the options and pick the person that not only is good to your budget but also who you click with! HTH!

I was in a similar situation when I was looking for a florist. I met with J ack and Rose and he gave me the best price around town. It was like 14 high cp's with bo-ks for $1500. However, I was a little iffy when I met with him, it was like he was constantly reassuring me that they will be on time and the fact that they only do one wedding a day. He allowed me to look at some of his work but nothing really stood out to ME. I showed pictures of the Bo-k I wanted and he said 'this is a start.' I was actually insulted because there was no convincing me that what I wanted would be changed. Something just did not sound right and I did a search on here and could not find anything on them in more recent times. I later did a post about the company and was told to stay away in various FM's.

You know, a poster (TERI) responded to this post about how she is using J and R and how happy she is so far. Well that got deleted because LIWeddings deletes any posts about them. It kind of s*cks for the florist to have that arrangment in place because she actually put up a good post about them. It's no wonder why they have such a sh*tty reputation on this site.
I am visiting Flowers by Brian and Pedestals on Saturday. I was hoping to find centerpieces for $50 each..I'm flexible and am willing to do low centerpieces, submerged flowers in vases, candle centerpieces with very litle flowers, etc. If they can't give me something nice for that price, then I'll look into J and R.

When I put my post up, it was removed and then I asked why and then I received an FM from client services telling me why. Cuz your restricted to using only the preferred vendor, I would check them out so that you can see for yourself. Thank goodness I am not locked in like this otherwise, I too would be limited. Like any other vendor, I make sure to do my research with this website and others before making my final decision,

I booked with J & R and haven't had any problems. I got all the flowers and candleabra's (sp?) that I wanted for a great price. I don't know too much about the other two vendors. I would definitely see a few places. It's always smart to shop around.

im using flowers by brian and somehow got a great deal and LOVE what theyre putting together for me. i explained what i had in mind to the girl stacy, and she went in the back and put together everything right there for me so i could see it and not just talk about it. love it...
