Torn between two halls

Torn between two halls

ok, so I'm torn between Bayview House and Harbor Club for the wedding. Help! I really liked the room of Bayview House. THe inredibly high ceilings, arched windows etc. However, I think the actual package for what we get for our money is a lot more at Harbor Club. Bayview house cocktail hour seemed to be substantial less than what Harbor Club was offering. I liked Harbor Club and I like the location and the fact that it has some greenery outside (which Bayview House is lacking) but I liked the physical room a lot less.

thoughts??

I'm trying to decide between a few halls also.

Keep in mind, the greenery is beautiful and will def add something, but you are going to be spending 4 hours in one room, not outside on the greenery.

If you like one room much more then the other i would go with that one. See if they can throw a few more things into cocktail.

I agree... you can always go elsewhere for the greenery and take pics... but the inside is where you will be for the duration of the wedding. You should really love it. I would see if they can work with the pricing, and see what they can throw in and then compare...

ive only been to captain bills for a wedding, but the place is gorgeous!!! and its funny bc my only complaint is the concern you have....the cocktail hour wasnt the best. there wasnt much food and the room was tiny. but everything else was amazing!

if you like the actual room of the bayview house than go with than one! i dont know what your budget looks like but if your able to you can always add a plate or two, and most people end up making a stop for pics on their way to the RH anyway!

Re: Torn between two halls

thanks! I will see if they can add a bit of food to the CH. Its not so much the room of the cocktail hour that bothers me at bayview house because i actual like the idea of it being quasi outdoors (there will be a tent-like structure up) with a view of the water on the deck. There price is really good too, so i guess if i wanted to add something to the CH and it cost a bit more it wouldnt be too bad. I would be having the ceremony at the RH, so i cant take pictures in between--- would have to be beforehand, which is not too bad, i guess.

there's just so much to consider! I feel like once i pick the reception hall then lots more will fall in to place, but there are just so many factors.

Go with bayview, you should love the room its so much more important. and those cocktail hour menus are so excessive and gluttonous anyway....do you really need 3-5 stations during a cocktail hour?? its an hour... How much can people eat!!??

My wedding was at the Harbor Club and I cant express enough how wonderful it was. From the minute we walked in the first time to look at it Matt (the BM) was so helpful and nice. Even after the wedding they have been great. The food is soooo good ( my mom is still getting calls about it) and the service is good. They worked with us for every crazy request that we had and didnt bat an eye about it. At my wedding, the bridal attendant and maitre d were there every step of the way making us feel like royalty. YOU CANNOT GO WRONG HERE!!!

As for the room not being as nice...well , with the DJ or band going, and you are dancing and socializing, you wont even notice what it looks like,

I would go for who gives you more and which place will cater to you on your day.

FM me if you wan more info or details.

Re: Torn between two halls

I went to a wedding at Harbor Club and have been to parties at Bayview House (although not a wedding)...Harbor Club appealed to me a lot more...there were a lot of problems at Bayview House including the valet, the seats were hard and uncomfortable, and i have been to the restaurant there and endured rude service...the wedding I went to at HC was really great!!! Service was good, food was really good, no problems. Like I said I didn't go to a wedding at Bayview House but I would choose the HC....if you want more details FM me and I would be happy to share.
Don't know if this matters to you but HC was rated #1 in last year's Newsday poll about top RHs on LI...
