I've never been to La Mela. But always have fun at Tortilla Flats. Went there for a bachelorette party once and we had a great time. It's small though

Re: Tortilla Flats or La Mela?
Thanks, I will probably be having about 14 people. Do you think its too small for that? I was kinda confused about their package things..was reading their website. I really wanna go to a place that has all different types of drinks and is fun for those kind of parties. Any other suggestions? Probably will be going to Culture Club later on that night..

If you are having that many people, I would say La Mela - I have been to both a few times. Both are really fun for bachelorette parties!!

What about MOD? It's a lot of fun and it's big enough space, as it has two floors. It's an eighties style place, and they have a really cute menu. If you go on a Friday night it's $20 open bar from 10-1am. You're not going to find a much better deal than that.

Last year I went to a bachelorette party at Mangia y Bevi (800 9th Ave, bet. 53rd & 54th Sts.) and had a great time. It was very spacious and the food was great! They pass around tambourines and everyone gets up on the chairs and starts dancing during certain songs. it was so much fun. You should check them out!

We're planning my friends BP at La Mela. It's perfect for a large party. PLUS we're going to Culture Club as well, and the restaurant is not too far from Culture Club. S you don't have to worry about schlepping 14 girls around too far.

Re: Tortilla Flats or La Mela?
I don't like La Mela. I went once with a large group and they sat us in a room that had white plastic picnic tables and chairs and no tablecloths, they had the back door open and it was winter so we were freezing, and the food was just so-so. I have a client that lives across the street and told me they have been written up by the board of health numerous times and that she sees the Progresso soup delivery guy there once a week - they don't even make their own soup!
Tortilla Flats is fun, but small - depending on the size of your group it may be tight. But, its always fun there!
