i just emailed florist to negotiate price. we have a low budget for lighting so i was curious how much everyone spent on lighting? or plans to spend?

I've seen a variety but all from DJ companies. I've seen uplighting from $25-45 per light...my room needs 20 lights to uplight it properly, & my room is not THAT big. A lot of DJ companies incorporate gobo into their lighting package. They all vary and have a different truss set up (the truss is the big steel thing where the lights are attached to). I just got a quote for lighting, $300. It is a 10' by 10' truss with simulated lasers, intelligent lighting, robotic lighting, enhancement, and dance floor lighting. I don't even know what some of those things are, i just typed what was on the paper lol. These prices were all within a wedding DJ package...not by themselves so I'm not sure if that chages things.

I was charged 500 for uplighting by my DJ. We negotiated alot with them & they were great so I kind of just took what they told me. (We just added it on about a month ago)

hmmm i was quoted from a few places and they all were charging 50 per light. i guess thats a little much?
50 per uplight
200-250 for gobo
15-20 for each pinspot

I believe we spent about $500 on ours...
Make sure you get in touch w/ your RH before you book pin lighting because it all depends on the wiring inside the RH...a lot of them are not capable of doing this
Also, w/ the gobo, is your dj doing any kind of lighting? (not uplighting, I mean more of dance lighting like lazers etc) If so, and you are on a budget, you may want to think about scratching the gobo. The only time you will really see it is when you are slow dancing and eating dinner (kind of). My DJ told me he would do it but told me it wasn't worth the $.

I think we are going to do a vinyl decal on the dance floor instead of the gobo. its cheaper (like 50 bucks) and everyone will be able to see it. like u said the gobo u dont see cause of all the people on the dance floor.

Hey, I saw that before and really liked it...But what did ur hall say about it..Will it be damaging to the floor at all? I would really like to know a little more about it in tears of where you are getting it and how much, if you don't mind sending me an fm?
