I just found out last night that a friend of mine is doing coke to lose weight!!!!

I just don't understand.
Why do people feel this is a solution?? These are DRUGS!!! Hard core drugs. The kind that put you in jail. Agh- makes me SICK. What can I do?
Her parents are the type of people that 'everything is always rosey' and they like to hide from reality. So that is not an option.

How long has she been doing this? She needs to stop ASAP. She may need rehab etc, but definitely needs a meeting NOW. Only thing is she is going to want to do it for herself. Sorry to hear this

And you know what, I am sure there are deeper rooted issues besides 'to lose weight'. Makes me sad.

she will wind up dead and with sinus problems later in life, not thin!!! I'm sorry you are going through this.

Do other friends of hers and yours know this?

If so, I would all meet at someone's house, have her show up as well, and talk to her as a group. She needs to know that it is because you all love her, that she has to stop.

I heard this is a good way to have someone realize, that it not only effects her life, but the lives of her loved ones.

Yes a few of us know, but she has been MIA for a while, and the only reason I found out is b.c I asked why she hasen't been around. She knows that we wouldn't approve, so she's hiding from us.
I think tonight I'm going to talk to a few friends and help set up an intervention of some sort.

First of all do you know that she is taking coke for a diet use or is she using the drug to party.I know alot of people who use coke for the weekends and it usually supresses eating till mid week.
U can't just do an intervention with someone that might not actually have a problem

Does she misss work?
Did she stop paying her bills?
Coke is a party drug and that might be what she is doing..
Having a good time!

Just be honest and ask her!

I think approving or disapproving isn't ones place.
I mean who is anyone to make the call what someone else does on their own time.
U know!
