Hi girls I am having a really hard time with this. Some background info: I attend City Tech as a non-degree student, therefore they will not give me a loan
So now I forced to take out a loan through either Citibank or Sallie Mae...Has anyone ever had a experience with either of these companies....I am in dire need of help and FH is too busy to sit down with me

My FH is using Sallie Mae and he's going through such hell with them. He says that they have such high interest rates and if you have to defer a payment, you have to pay $150 every 3 months while you accumulate interest.

They deffered mine while I am still in school...If I pay it before I graduate I don't have to pay the intrest..now I just need the $$ to pay them..probably use some tax return money

I am having the same problem as previously mentioned. I have been trying to defer my loans and I have to pay to defer them for 3 months, they won't let you defer them for a longer period of time. Also, their interest rates are so high and they don't have a reasonable expectation for their monthly payments even after they know how much you make. They told me, 'well you are going to have to do the work yourself and find somewhere where you can lower your monthly payment to what you can afford because we cannot help you anymore'. Such jerks.

i have citiassist and when I graduated I consolidated my loans to get an even lower interest rate

depending on what type of loan you have, even if you are in deferrement it is required to pay interest.
fh has a sallie mae loan, no problems, we pay on time, he is locked into an interest rate, we have no problems.
