Tours to Russia

Has anyone gone on a guided tour of Russia with a travel agency and if so, which company did you use? Did you like the tour?

My dad toured St Petersburg with a group...but it was based around the opera and ballet...

would you like the name?

I will ask him...

I know that he found the company through an ad in the program at the Met Opera House...and I know he is going on a Vienna and Prague opera tour...but I don't know if they are the same company (that do opera tours)...or if they specialize in the speicific area

Anya, yes, we're planning a visit in September. We would prefer to do it in Russian, rather than English...

I have never been to St. Petersburg, and only once to Moskow, when I was 10... Lenny has been to both, but also when really young...

I want to experience it as an adult

I am having trouble finding tours that I like within the reasonable budget among the few tour companies that I have called. And I want to spend more than 2 days in each city, which is how many english speaking tours do it.

Edited to Add: We're also considering going solo on our own, although we'll definitely stick out. DH's buddy was 'robbed' by cops for drinking a beer outside (a poor excuse since its allowed there)... Basically they fined him b/c he looked out of place like some wealthy guy.

My parents went 2 years ago

The Tour name was Globus!

36 days !

T, THANKS.... Unfortunately, I don't have 36 vacation days But I have traveled with Globus before and thoroughly enjoy the trip to Italy with them...

They do they have trips from 8 days and up she said

My parents go on one big trip a year

Last Year they toured South America for 32 days..........

They have been everywhere
The only place she got home sick was when they went to China!

But she said you get use to it and when you know everything at ':home' is ok you are fine!
