Towel Cake

I am sure many of you have seen this before but I just did it for my mom's shower and it was so cute. I made it a bath theme with a little rubber ducky and bubbles etc.. It was super easy to do...Check it out!

Can you tell me where you bought the rubber duckies? How much did they cost?

Re: Towel Cake

I just got one of those at my shower last weekend! It was so beautiful. It had flowers cascading off of it like a real cake and a bride and groom topper. I never saw anything like it before and it was a big hit!!

Re: Towel Cake

I got the rubber duckies at a store called Rickys in the City, they were $1 something there...I am trying to think where you could get them in LI...maybe Claire's, Target or a Baby store..not sure..good luck! You can be really creative with it..I stuck some bubbles and a long bath loofa out of the top..here is a pic..I am such a dork =)

Re: Towel Cake

I just saw rubber ducks in Linen'N'Things. Old Navy used to carry them too.

The towel cake is really cute. I may do that for my MOH when she gets married in May.

Thanks for the info.

Re: Towel Cake

LOL...I made one a few weeks ago for a bridal shower. I am definitely NOT the creative, crafty, handy type-but have to admit it came out nice!

I used all white towels, three 'tiers' and trimmed it with silk ribbon and rosettes that I got at a trimmings shop in midtown. I used a long wooden skewer down the middle to hold it all together and topped it off with a mini bride and groom cake topper. Tip---cheaper, thinner towels are easier to work with.
