Re: TOWER OF CUPCAKES?
i actually told mom (traditional italian mom) that i wanted to do the tower of cupcakes and she had a fit..i had to just take a deep breath and remind myself that what she doesn't know won't hurt her..lol
FYI- Most places wont make this kind of cake, I am a pastry chef, cake decorator so I was ging to make it (how I was gong to have the time- I dont know) but i was going to try, well... my catering said they cannot serve the cake, they can display it but they cannot serve it...

I'm confused. Why can't they serve a cupcake cake?

I forget, but I believe it was someone's sisters wedding upstate. It looked great. I think it is such a cute idea.

Re: TOWER OF CUPCAKES?
I am planning on doing one...cake is not included in my contract, so I will be sourcing out the best cupcakes in LI and 'making it' myself. Basically, I will order the cupcakes, inform my florist of how I want the flowers arranged on them, purchase the tierd cake stands (inexpensive at a cake supply store) and Raphael and my florist will assemble the 'cake' on the day of. Affordable, fun, and creative. How can you not love it?
We actually made the cupcake stand ourselves. It's terracotta pots painted black, with styrofoam circles as the stands (with black contact paper and trim).
