towns in between mineola and middle village?

I am currently on the hunt for an apartment or home in between where I work and where I currently live. FH works in the city, so I would like to stay closer to Queens, but If we can find a middle ground that is fine.

I just can't seem to find any places in between. I only know of New Hyde Park. Can someone help me find other towns to search in?? TYIA!

I'm in Forest Hills, easy highway access to get to Mineola but its not close. The Port Washington branch of the LIRR rules so how about any of those towns? Port, Great Neck, Douglaston, Bayside?
