TOYS FOR TOTS-if you would like to donate a toy(s)

Ok so I am planning on donating toys to Toys for tots for needy children. I would love to get alot of people involved so we can all donate LOTS of toys to children who really it need it this holiday season. Toys for tots is a great organization where we can donate the toys, there are alot of drop off locations. They are all in the 5 boroughs and since I live in Queens, I can pick a location to drop them all off. Two other LIW members said they would love to help so far, Browneyesncute and Futuremrsfab. So what we would do is set up pick up locations for any of you that want to donate a toy or toys, we would get all the toys and then drop them off at the locations. More people can of course volunteer and help with this, if you are interested let me know.

I called up Toys for tots and the only rule they have is that its a new toy that is still in its box but other than that you can buy any toy you want. Most toys are inexpensive so can be lets say $10, 15,20,30 or whatever you feel comfortable spending. If you want to do more thats all on you but even if we get just 1 gift from most ladies on here, that would be huge. You can also tell your friends, family, co-workers to help out. Once we get more responses from ladies that want to donate, I will set up pick up locations where we would pick up the toys from you, but anybody is more than welcome if they want to come with me to drop them off.

me and a few other LIW ladies will actually do pick up locations. So we will set up a time and place for everyone to drop off the toys to us and we will bring it to the toys for tots locations. Once I get more people who say they want to donate, I will post a thread with all the info about where to meet us. SInce so far there are 3 of us who will do the pick up, we can also do 3 locations so whomever is closest to any 3 of us, can just pick which one is most convenient for them. I have to drop off all the toys by December 18th, so soon I will have a thread updating with all the info on where you can meet us to give us the toys

What a cute idea. You are such a thoughtful person!! I would love to participate but we actually just did this at my job (along with a million other charity donations around the holidays) so I am completely tapped out! But do know that I did donate alot of toys this year already

My friends and I did something like this last year. We donated toys to the childrens hospital. It felt really good for kids that dont have anything for the holidays and are sick

Thats a great idea. We do this at work every year, it's such a good cause

That would be so great thank you. Like i said above, they said the last day i can drop off the toys is December 18th, but i want to give everyone time so i will probably pick up toys from everybody just a day or 2 before that. Once I get the exact dates then I will post the thread and tell everybody what day is good for me to pick up the toys from them.
