Lbf404 just told me that the toys r us in union square is closing and had some good sales. She got Scene It at a really good price. I'm going tomorrow, so I'll let everyone know what I find!

i don't know..I read awhile back that they were possibly going out of the toy business, b/c so many toys are purchased from walmart and target, etc. I don't know what other stores are going out, if any.

I went there tonight and bought 2 games for 24.99 each marked down from 34 dollars. Everything is on sale, wrapping paper, cards, toys, baby stuff. The only thing that is not on sale is diapers, formula and video games.

Whjen I was in a KayBee here in RI before Christmas, that was going out of out business, the employee told me that within 5 years, there would be no big toy stores anymore....Kay BEe is going out of business, slowly closing stores over te next 2 years, and Toys R Us is also going out of business..they cannot compete with Wal Mart, target, K-mart
Its a Shame that when I ahve kids, there will be no TOY store..just a department store to get toys from

Yeah, I read a news article that almost all of the Toys R' us stores will be closing or eventually turning into Babies R' us stores. They make much more of a profit selling baby items than toys. A whole bunch of TRU employees got fired after the holidays, which came as a shock to them, because they had been told they'd at least be provided with some sort of new opportunity as opposed to getting laid off. It's a shame. It seems like a lot of stores are going out of business lately.

I still don't understand how it's possible that Toys R Us can go out of business...every time I'm in there I have to wait on long lines...I normally would never go to a store like WalMart or Kmart to buy toys...I just automatically go to Toys R Us...how sad.....

I just got home from the city. I got some video games for me and DH at 25% off, and Trivial Pursuit 90s edition for 30% off- it came out to $22 - great price!
