Where/How did you find the house to rent for your wedding? I am looking for a house to rent for that weekend for my FH relatives. Any suggestions? Where are your guests staying for the night?

Hi! We found our house through a friend. But I would say look on www.cyberrentals.com - they have houses listed for rent in the Hamptons. My guests are staying all over. Alot of them live on Long Island so they are just going to travel for the day. The problem is that most places have 2 night minimums so they can't just stay on Saturday. If they are willing to stay 2 nights, the Inn at Southampton is nice and the Southampton Motel is nice too. Every place is expensive so renting a house would probably be better. Check out that website and also the Southampton chamber of commerce website might help. Where are you getting your cake from?? Is it in the Hamptons?

Cake
We are thinking of Blue Duck on Hampton Road or Tate's (Formally Kathleen's) Who's doing your flowers?

For the centerpieces we're going to go to the local farmstand and just fill the vases we have with a mixed bunch of flowers. For the bouquets I'm using Kim Jon Designs (they advertise on the board). They are located down the street from my wedding site. Have you gotten prices for the cake yet? I really don't want to spend much on it. I can't believe we have less than 3 months left!!!

I have an appointment with Kim JonDesigns on 7/2. Her work is beautiful. All my friends used her. What flowers are you using for bouquets? How many bouquets are you getting? What does she charge?
I can't believe are weddings are less than 3 months away. Did you send out your invitations yet? I just finished addressing outside envelopes. We are going to stuff them tonight.
What are you doing for favors?
We are getting a few cases of wine from Duck Walk Vineyards for the reception. Great wine! I ususally give it to friends and family for Christmas.

Her bouquets are around $60 each. I have 8 bridesmaids and 1 MOH and I'm going to have small bouquets with black beauty roses (the dress is a merlot color) and different fall colors, like purple flowers and mocha and rust. What kind of flowers are you using??
We just got out invitations and are going to mail them out on July 6. When are you mailing yours??
For favors we're doing a donation to the Staten Island University Hospice. We wrote up a scroll and are going to have it attached to a bag of candy. Are your favors the wine??
I went to the Duck Walk Vinyards last year! I'm not sure if we're using their wine or not, we're still looking around.

No, I am doing chocolates for favors. We are using Duck Walk wine at the reception. I didn't want to give it as favors because I give it as Christmas gifts. I buy a case of each color and bring it to friends and family when we visit them around the holidays. Great gift and saves me a lot of time. I don't know what kind of flowers yet. I'll let you know after I meet with her.

I am getting my flowers from Kim Jon Designs too! She was wonderful, very helpful and honest! BM bouquets are lavender roses, white freesia and another dark purple flower (can't remember the name) My bouquet is mostly white fressia and a few lavender roses. For boutineers and corsages we are using more white freesia. Centerpieces are ivy and freesia around a hurricane lamp w/ white candles sitting on a mirror.
