I just realized that my train will get filthy dragging on the floor. I know you pin it up but I feel like the bottom of my white dress will be so dirty.
(I actually had a nightmare about having a dirty dress on my wedding day last night. So many wedding nightmares!!)
I don't mean to be anal but I would be pretty upset if my pretty white dress got dirty during pictures. I also know a lot of brides (including me) will probably switch to flip flops or ballerina shoes. That almost guarantees that the dress will drag on the floor, right? Sigh.
I'm sure this is insignificant in the grand scheme of things but it sure is bothering me.

Re: Train Getting Dirty during Wedding
you can hold it up during pics and put a sheet underneath you while you are standing around. I am changing into flip flops that are the same height as my shoes. Also most of what would get dirty is underneath the dress, and who sees that anyway?

During you pictures you should should have a white sheet with you which will prevent some of the dirtiness.
At the party you dress will get dirty (from the floor and from people stepping on it, even bustled I got stepped on a lot) there isn't really much you can do about it.

Mine got very dirty! It bothered me also, and I tried to do my best to keep it clean, but people were stepping on my dress while i was dancing (and it was bustled). At some point, you have to just try your best and not lose your mind over things. I sent it to be cleaned and preserved and that will have to be good enough, I guess.

Mine got dirty too at the party. I have a short story about getting your wedding gown dirty. DH's friend got married July 04 - her dress was great. Well, at cocktail hour somehow someone got marinara sauce on it! I would have freaked, but in the moment and on that day - this girl handled it beautifully - she was wearing such a smile and was glowing so much from being married, she said oh well - and the rest of the party I didn't even really notice it. now - inside was she fuming mad, probably, but the day of - you go with the flow and in the gran scheme like you said, it doesn't matter.

My dress was filthy by the end of the night. There were 2 tiny dots of marinara sauce complements of me shoving seafood fra divalo (sp?) down my throat! And a few little dirt marks other then that the bottom underneath really took a beating. But you couldn’t even tell. There’s nothing in the pics or anything.
Don’t stress, bring some chalk, talk powder etc to get stains removed just in case for piece of mind. And at least 1 person will step on you dress while dancing. Some girl stepped on me & pulled the button my bustle was on out a bit. Thankfully my dress has buttons down the back so we just moved the bustle up one but I was a little aggravated. She didn’t even say sorry.

Its a fact that the dress will get dirty during the course of the day.
Don't let it stress you out...it your wedding day...you'll have plenty else to be thinking about!

You can always hold it up for pictures and I have to say overall it isn't as bad as you think. My dress was dirty at the end of the night but i didn't show in any of the pictures b/c it was faint.

Re: Train Getting Dirty during Wedding
my dress got so filthy that I spent a good part of cocktail hour in the bathroom with my bridal attendants trying to rub the grass and dirt stains out.
its just inevitable I guess. Try your best to keep it up from the ground, but don't let it ruin your day.

My train got dirty before we even made it to church! I knew this was going to happen, so I didn't freak! We were able to clean the stain off for the church with Shout wipes...
But remember, no matter how hard you try, your dress is going to get dirty

I don't think this is insignificant at all, and it didn't even dawn on me until at my recent fitting, the woman said not to leave the room to show my BP, have them come to me, because she didn't want my dress to get dirty, and the floors at the bridal shop were clean - I was thinking - my god, if it'll get dirty HERE, than what about....
I KNOW people will step on my dress... I don't plan on having much of an appetite, so hopefully getting food on it wont be an issue, but I am sure there will be people shoiving into me, and also loving people trying to get me to at least take a bite of something....
Ay, what we women have to worry about!!!

Just like everyone says, nothing you can do about it! Although, I'm going to task my 14 year old niece with holding my train off the ground when I walk around the grounds for the pictures. She just doesn't know it yet.
