transfer video to DVD question

has anyone done this? And if so can you recommend a place to have this done? My mother found all these old VHS videos we took when my dad was alive, and wants to have them transfered to DVD to preserve them. I know there are places that do this, I was hoping some of you gals could give me a lead or 2 of where to go.

I don't know where you can get them done, but I do know where you can find the equipment to do this yourself, if that helps.
The company is called Adaptec, and the converter is called VideOh! It's $150
