Transportation

Transportation

I keep hearing differnt things about who I have to provide transportaton to and where and I wanted to get an oppinion for from a few experts aka 2010'ers lol....

FH and I both live in Bay Shore and are being married at St. Patricks Church which is also in Bay Shore at 5pm than the BP is going to Robert Moses to take pic's and the recepion starts at 8pm at the Venetian Yacht Club in Babylon (10 mins from church)

This is my idea as for as who we are providing transportation for....
1. FH and me, duh
2. The BP and I would like to provide transportation for their dates as well from the Church on but I am concerned about them having to drop off cars and what not at the hotel. I am considering having them meet at one spot all together in bay shore maybe at someones house from the BP before the church (not all are staying in the hotel and having a limo pick them up?)
3. Our parents - either with us from the start or have them picked up to go to the RH
3. OOT guests who stay in the hotel (we only have a few OOT guests as it is)

Than on the way home
1. Anyone staying at the Hotel (BP & OOT)
2. Our parents to their homes
3. again us duh
4. Make sure cabs come for the BP who lives local and is not staying at hotel

What do you girls think?? Thanks for reading all of this

Re: Transportation

That's a lot of people to provide transportation for.

We're doing the following:

Navigator picks up me, my parents, and my BM's from where I'm getting ready (either my house or hotel) and drives us to church.

Limobus picks up FH, his parents, and GM's for the same.

Then, both sets of parents will go in the Navigator to the RH, and FH and I with the BP will go in the bus.

After reception, FH and I have a towncar picking us up.

I am getting the shuttle from my hotel to provide roundtrip transportation to/from hotel and RH for anyone booking a room.

I'm not having BP member's dates in the limos with us, because if they don't stay in the hotel, they need a ride home. This way their dates can drive them home. As for our parents, again, if they don't stay in the hotel, they can catch a ride from other family members.

It's a lot to try to arrange transportation for EVERYONE. I would recommend just worrying about transportation for you and FH the most.

This is what i'm doing (i think...)

Rolls Royce driving my uncle, mom and myself to church.

Yukon taking my girls to the church. Then going to get the guys and his mom.

Limo only at the church bringing both mothers and any aunts uncles to the hall.

Imo, i don't think it's good to bring the BP dates with you. 1. If they aren't staying over at the hotel how do they get home? 2. What are they supposed to do while the BP is taking pictures?

Thanks maybe I am going over board...I am worried about people drinking and driving.

The hotels near my hall will only provide transportation if you end up booking 10 rooms ... so I am hoping that ends up being free.

Thos who are not staying at the hotel live close so they would either get picked up (by their parents, common thing idk why we still think this is ok at our age but whatever) or we would make sure they get in a cab

I was thinking they could drink in the limo and the photog would be able to get a pick of everyone with there dates...I get these ideas to be nice to people for no reason at all and I usually end up screwing myself. Maybe I will X them off my list

thanks

Re: Transportation

we have a lot of oot guests so i am providing shuttles from the hotel to the woodlands for anyone who is staying at the hotel.

as far as me, fh, and bp we havent figured it out yet....we are trying to avoid limos since we are getting married at the RH but we havent figured out the logistics yet.

Re: Transportation

so for OOT guests I do not need to do anything extra for them with the church right? Just after the church right before the reception transportation from the hotel to the VYC is good?

i am providing busses from the church to the RH and from the RH back home for those that want it... it saves people from having to drive... and since mostly everyone is coming from and staying in the same town it makes it easier...

That's what I'm doing. They find their own way to the church. Then go back to the hotel after church and hop on the shuttle to the RH.

Can I ask what shuttle company you ladies are using - or ar your shuttles provided through your hotels? I just posted something on the vendors board today but haven't gotten any bites. Any ideas?
