yeah but i don't know which is worse...the stress of having to come up there and have limited time to find something just as good...or stress about the cake getting ruined in transport...

plus things are cheaper here in NC so the cost of transporting it would probably even out.

if u have a pic of the cake, couldnt a baker up here replicate it for you? oooor what about having that baker in nc create a dummy cake and ur RH here provide sheet cake for people to actually eat

oh it's not about the exterior design of the cake...i mean the TASTE! best chocolate cake i've ever tasted. i was really impressed. we walked by and the guy was like 'this is the best chocolate blah blah blah' and we were like 'yeah right' but then we tried it (me, moh and one of my bms) and we almost died...it was sooo delish..

and trust me..i'm a chocoholic and my moh has self proclaimed herself the best baker (lol) and even she was impressed and that takes A LOT! we tasted a lot of cake that day too so we had a lot to immediately compare it to.

I've heard of bakeries transporting cakes. You should ask them if they ship the cakes... I hope you weren't thinking of transporting it yourself!

Honestly I would not even try. Cakes are so sensitive. When I watch shows about Cakes on the food network just bringing a cake across town looks scary.

I watch the show Ace of Cakes a lot and they do a lot of transporting of cakes. I think it could work although it might cost some extra money.

tell the bakers from nc to come up and borrow your kitchen and make one here for you.

Honestly, I highly doubt NC has anything on NYC!!! I bet you could find about 20 bakeries here in nyc or li that would blow that NC bakery out of the water... Before making a trip to li, do your research on here on great bakeries and that will narrow down your search so it wont take too much of your time... I think its nuts that in a city that has everything imagineable, you would want to transport a cake from nc... No offense, but seriously sleep on that idea for a while...

Awww, sweetie, I'm 100% positive that you will be able to find a cake just as good, if not BETTER than the one you tasted in NC.
