Travel Agent

FH and I pretty much know what we want to do. We visited Liberty TRavel today and were quoted at $5300, I checked out expedia and it's $4700 on there. What are my options? Does anyone know if LT will price match internet prices? Anyone know of a cheap travel agent? I don't mind giivng up $100 or so but $500 is a lot of money for someone to make off of me!

I am too impatient for my own good!

Had to look all over but FYI: Liberty Travel WILL price match US internet pricing BEFORE you book. I am now searching all over to get the best price possible!! A check may be on the way this week!!!!

Hi! Just seeing this but let me know if you booked yet. We booked with Cory Orchin, she works out of the city and we did everything by phone. By far, the best quote we got and about $2,000 less than what LT quoted :). I got a reco for her also from LIW. Tell her I sent you.

Thank you. I am emailing her now. I don't want to have to spend anymore than I have to!! I'd rather that $$ go to excursions and massages!

My friend's mother is a travel agent, I plan on calling her today actually to make my appointment with her. I honestly don't know if she is considered cheap or expensive but I do know she is very honest and fair. Everyone I know uses her and absolutely loves her. Her name is Andrea from Personal Travel in Stony Brook (631) 941-0100.

We are going to the Excellence resort in Playa Mujeres, Mexico. It got awesome reviews. I cannot wait. LT called me today and are price matching. I am going to go with them bc they are down the road from us and I like knowing that. Tomorrow we book! :))))))))))

I had a bad experience with Liberty Travel. They booked me and my friends on a flight to mexico with 2 stop overs and one stopover had 5 hours inbetween the flights!!! Once I saw this I called American Airlines myself and rebooked us on a direct flight and AA reimbursed us all $50 because the direct flight was cheaper! That was my only experience with them, I am sure this isnt par for the course, but it just never sat well with me so from now on I do all my own planning.

No, def getting direct flights. She actually saved us over $1000 by suggesting to leave on a Monday instead of Saturday. I was impatient to leave on a Saturday but now we will have extra time to pack!!

I have a dumb question. I've never actually used a travel agent. My dad uses one through work who he suggested, and I'll reach out to Cory also since she comes so highly recommended here. My question is - what exactly do I ask them? Like how specific of a plan should I have going into it? And how much do they typically charge?
