ok girls so heres whats going on..i cant even believe it... so a while back i was looking into planning my honeymoon and i was posting on facebook asking where should i go...and my neighbor messages me and tells me that her friend just went to a place in DR that was gorgeous and i should talk to her and check it out.. so she gives me her friends facebook name and we start chatting...so me and my neighbors friend (stacy) start talking about the resort...she is a travel agent and just went there with her husband.. so she is answering all my questions and pricing for me and all that good stuff..and im soo thankful!...then all of a sudden my FH (personal trainer) tells me that one of his clients says yo him..u have to let my wife price for u..she is a travel agent and always gets us the best deals..just let her price it for you.. they were talking about honeymoon stuff cuz the client is always traveling cus of his wife being a travel agent...so FH says ok let her price...and so she does and she gets the same stuff for $500 cheaper!! so now me being nice and all, i email the other agent (neighbors friend Stacy) and i tell her stac, this other agent (and i explain that she is FH's clients wife) got us a cheaper price..$500 less...so i gave her the oppurunity to price match..cuz i felt bad now like how could i not book with her..but $500 bucks is a nice chunk of money.. anways she got annoyed with me and said 'wow chels i had no idea u were working with another agent (which i really wasnt until that day) and she goes i hope u realize how much time i have put into this..and then tells me to find out the name of the company the other agent used to she can price match..well i wasnt willing to ask the other lady who she used..thats rude and weird.. and now that she was annoyed with me i really didnt want her to book my honeymoon while ur pissed at me! lol so i just left it at that and booked with the other woman.. and i havent put anyhting on facebook for like over a month about it cuz i didnt want stacy to see if and get offended..but this week i commented that my honeymoon was booked on the facebook page of the resort..and this woman stacy (has to be in her 40's, we arent talking about a teenager her lol) comments under it 'Im glad all my hard work paid off for you!' and she de friended me! OUCH! lol.. like what the heck!? so then i messaged her saying i dont want u being upset with me u have to understand i let u know when someone else was getting me a better price i didnt just drop u..and then u gave me an attitude ..and i really didnt want to book with u after that.. and so at that point it wasnt even only about the $500 it was that i dont want someone to book my honeymoon who is pissed at me! so then i ended up telling my neighbor what happened becuz she kept texting me saying :'when stacy comes for dinner u should come and meet her' before all this happened and i didnt want staycy to go for dinner and my neighbor to say oh chelsea's coming over and now things be awkward so i jsut wanted to let her know whats going on..and she cannot believe it she said she is soo embarassed of her friend and she cant believe how childish and unprofessional she is acting! UGH!! well the good part is my honeymoon is all booked and all set and the lady LOVES me! lol anyways just had to rant about this! what do u girls think??

Wow!! Thats crazy. I like how you went into detail lol.
I was working with travel agent who is a vendor on here. Whatever prices she gave me I would cross check with other traveling websites like expedia and priceline just to make sure I was getting a deal. Her prices beat everyone expect this one particular website where I found the same deal she was offering me, but for 3-400 less. I told her immediately bc honestly I felt bad that she did so much work. We exchanged AT LEAST 30 emails bc I had a TON of questions and the only reason we found our dream honeymoon package was bc of her. She said it wasnt a problem and price matched it after checking the website just to make sure I wasnt lying to get a better deal. She was VERY professional, which is what should be expected from any professional, especially when dealing a wedding and honeymoon! Those are once in a lifetime experiences!
At least you have your dream honeymoon all set, youre better off not having to deal with a snotty lady who has an attitude problem.

Dont stress it. It is not your fault that she didnt do her job. In the world of business you either do your job or expect people to go else where. You went elsewhere then even gave her a shot to match her lose not yours.

I agree don't stress. I am a part time travel agent. As an agent, I think it is very important to do lots of research when you are planning a trip for someone. I treat my clients like they were family. Maybe she didn't do all the research that this other agent did for you. Maybe she just went with the first company or the usual company she uses.
At least you saved money and you can use it for something else.

Of all the TA's I have dealt with, have always offered a 'no obligation' price quote. She was unprofessional and good for you for saving $$$$$.
