Does anyone recommened using a travel agent for the honeymoon? I have seen good deals on expedia and travelocity etc., but wonder if an agent can get an even better one. We are looking into a ton of places, but I ahev a feeling we will end up in mexico due to expenses and the fact that it isn't very far away. Did anyone use an agent for El Dorado Seaside Suites or Excellence? Did you get anything extra by using one? Thanks girls!!

Joan from Liberty travel in Selden is amazing. My parents go away every year and use her. She knows so much about everywhere. I would highly recommend using her. You should look into an all inclusive. They just seem so much less stressful. Good luck.

Please be careful who you use. I used a LIW vendor whose name I do not want to say, and I've had such problems. Make sure you look into who you use, I really wish I had.
Did anyone get anything extra for using an agent such as a upgrade or anything like that?

Re: travel agent for Honeymoon
We're planning on going tot he el dorado seaside suites and the bst deal I hav efound so far is through an online travel agent. I have found some travel agents that will match the price, but they don't seem to throw in extras or anything.
O yea... the site I foudn the best deal on is www.discount-all-inclusive.com atleast a few hundred less than the best quote from elsewhere.

You'll find that you'll save more money with a Travel Agent. I went to Liberty Travel. FH tried pricing out our HM through Expedia and it was a few thousand more. You may want to price it out first on line with online travel agents, Expedia, etc then when you know what you want go to a Travel Agent in person and see if they will beat the price.

Re: travel agent for Honeymoon
I used Jimmy's Travel and their located in Lindenhurst. The lady I deal w/ is named Marleny! And she takes care of everything! She was so great when we booked our HM, that we used her again when we booked our trip this summer! and she specializes especially in all the different islands, and especially Sandals! :o)

Re: travel agent for Honeymoon
Thanks to all the above suggestions for Tom Varghese of Amex Travel! I emailed him and got a response right away via email and then he called me and we spoke for over an hour and he was VERY nice - going over my top 3 honeymoon choices and giving me all the info for each. A very nice and patient person!
I just wanted to give a quick rave for him because he really was very thorough and helped give us a better idea of each place we're considering. Can't wait to actually decide and book!

Re: travel agent for Honeymoon
We used Ginger Peachy Travel in Islip for our trip to the El Dorado Royale in Mexico. I'm not sure that we got any better deal using a travel agent... but it just made things easier! There was so much else to worry about...I felt like it made it easier to just talk to the travel agent about what we wanted (dinner reservations, etc) and not have to do it ourselves. =)
Good luck!
