Travel agent.. or Do It Yourself honeymoon...

has anyone ever got a quote from a travel agent and then looked online and beat their price? like using expedia or travelocity?

if so... what are the benefit of still using a TA?

i booked online cause it was just esier. but sometime TAs can throw in perks for free or discount that you cant get online!

TA's have positives and negatives to using them. I don't think they're completely necessary but can deinetely be a benefit for booking a HM.

I find that you can usually beat their prices online but they're good if you want to deal with one person and you get more hands on experience. There's somone to talk to about everything I think thats definetely necesary for a honeymoon. you definetly want to get as many opinions as posible. Sometimes they are motivated by their commision and the more you spend the more they get back.

I spoke to several travel agents on cruises but ended up booking on my own. They didn't even come close to competing with the prices I got on cruisecompete.

I'm lazy .. so TA but if you've looked online and beat their price you can always go back and negotiate no? .. maybe they can throw in extra stuff
