Travel Agent or No Travel Agent?

We did a TA b/c we are traveling to different islands in Fiji and need boat and plane transfers b/n the islands so the TA was def the way to go for us. If you are going to Aruba and staying in one resort, I don't think you really need one. Check out online prices then you can compare to a TA if you want to see which way you will get a better deal. it all depends. I like to book through a travel agent when it entails hotel air transfers etc. If you use Liberty travel they pricebeat so you will get the best price if theres is not the least youve seen.

Our TA put together an amazing itinerary with transfers, excursions, etc. But if you are sticking to one place, you probably could book it yourself.

TA's may be able to get you special HM upgrades or packages though.

We are also TA is so wonderful!! I wanted to switch hotels a couple of weeks ago and was nervous it would be way more expensive, but she got us what we wanted for $500 less than what was on the web!!

I love her - Lisa from Power Travel 516-822-9222

If youre just going to Aruba and staying there, you could get good deals on Travelocity or Expedia. Just reserarch your hotels a little beforehand because they may only offer certain hotels on the website. Ive stayed a few times and my favorite is the Hyatt, second fave the Marriot Stellaris. Absolutely hated the Riu Palace and wouldnt recommend it to anyone.

i always book everything myself but for the honeymoon i went through a TA so i had a one person contact instead of multiple people to call when I wanted a question answered. I will never book myself again they can always get great perks and beat any internet price i used a livendor Monique from Great Escapes by Marique Travel link

We did a TA. Normally, I wouldn't but for a HM, I feel you may get a better deal with an agent.

It wouldn't hurt to ask Travel Tom for some prices. Unfortunately, he was asking for more than Expedia was for my bach. party, so I just booked through them.

I am totally biased bc my mom has owned a travel agency for 20+ years! She is obviously booking my honeymoon (Peru) and she has worked with all of our friends, as everyone seems to be getting married in a span of the last 3 years or so. I don't want to write an advertisement for her bc I think it's an innappropriate use of the board but please feel free to FM me if you'd like her contact info. Her agency is in Huntington. She's really the best! :) She has sent my friends on honeymoons to Fiji/Bora Bora, Africa, Hawaii, Carribbean and they all love her. She has lots of other clients, it's just been a lot of fun the past couple of years with all of my friends doing their honeymoons with her. I hope this isn't obnoxious but I just had to give her a shout out!

I would recommend using a TA. It's your HM, you don't want to be bothered with things that a TA can handle for you.
