Travel Agent question
Re: Travel Agent question
Sometimes they can but with my experience, not really. But it can't hurt to contact a few and see what quotes they give you - you don't have to book with them.
Re: Travel Agent question
When FH and I booked our cruise for this past march, our TA didn't get us a better deal, but had access to rooms that we mid ship. When we looked to book online, we were only given the option for front or rear. SO they may not be able to get you a better deal price wise, but may be able to hook you up with room type and better location

Re: Travel Agent question
Yes I agree - sometimes they have better options for you. Or, like in my case, they introduced us to a few new places to stay at, which we never would have found on our own. And even though the rate was the same as I could get on my own, we still booked through them since they were the ones who found us the place. It really all depends on where you're going, etc.
Re: Travel Agent question
It really depends on the TA that you use! Some work very hard at trying to find the best deal, working within your budget and others not so much. It is good to get recommendations from others that have used a TA before.,
Re: Travel Agent question
I think the price would've been the same if we had booked on our own....but it would've been a lot of time and effort (and patience) I don't have right now. If you are taking a fairly simple HM, you probably can do it on your own
Re: Travel Agent question
i think its smart to price it out online and also contact a TA. if they quote you a higher price just send them what you found and they should be able to beat it or at least match it.
