Travel Agents ??? How does it work??

FH and I are really really into booking our HM now!!! so exciting
anyway, i signed up for this TA site recommended by a bride on here (thanks again!!!!)

and all these TAs are getting back to me.

so how do TAs get paid?? is it included in our price? are we paying for their services?

and since there are so many TAs to choose from, and we obviously pick the one that fits best for us, i feel bad for the other TA that worked on our HM for us.



How does this all work???

travel agents earn a commission from the hotels you book. You don't pay them a fee. Run away from any Travel Agent that asks you to pay their fee.

The only thing there *MAY* be a fee on is airline tickets. That is because airlines don't give commissions to travel agents any more.

yea travel agents get a commision. i use to be a travel agent. if a travel agent says they are charging you a fee tell them no! haha. i know we charged $20 a ticket for airline tickets because some airlines gave us no commision while others would give up to 15%.

just be careful though because travel agents dont always get u the best rate. definitely shop around to make sure u get the best rate.

Grrrrr...travel agents. They can be your worst nightmare. The first company we contacted ended up scamming us and taking our money. It was horrible!!! My BIL and his wife used them every year they went to Jamaica so of course we went through them and the owners were taking peoples money, buying the airline tickets, and then when the couple got to the resort they had NO RESERVATION. Thank GOD we found out what was going on before it got to that point for us. So I called the resort itself and asked for their most recommended agent and they turned out to be SO great!

Our travel agent was amazing!! He didnt charge us extra for anything, he was completely upfront with us...he really went above and beyond. If interested the website is discount-all-inclusive.com and we had Tom Kowall. You wont go wrong with him
