Travel Agents...Long

I went to a travel agent yesterday...who was really no help whatsoever. The only thing she could tell me was that the hotel I was asking about, Melia Turquesa was horrible. She said she had nothing but complaints about it. I told her I would rather hear about some other places she might suggest. She told me a little about Avalon and Beach Palace and when I asked a few questions she says 'why don't we just look into the hotel you came here for...Melia Turquesa' What????? Aftere she told me it is horrible. It was 3:30 and the close at 4:00, I think she just wanted to get rid of me.

Does anyone know of a good travel agent? I live in Shirley but work in Hauppaugue, so anything in between those areas.

People tell me to just book online but that makes me a little nervous.

Also does anyone know anything about the Avalon Grand in Cancun?

I don't but I just had to say this honeymoon crap is stressing me out!!!
I am in CO and spent my day off driving in the snow to a travel agent to look into Australia which turned into Fiji because of weather. Watched a freakin' slide show and gave her all my info so she could email me a quote.

That was Wednesday. Still not quote. Supposed to have it Thursday. Then I come to read reviews on the places she recommended and they were terrible.

I have used them 3 times and LOVE them. They are extremely knowledgeable & so kind!!

We used LIberty Travel in St. James - right on 347. They are very very nice and helpful - the agent we worked with sat with us for almost 2 hours and went through many different options, dates, locations, etc.!
She gave us suggestions and was very very nice!

Thanks guys, i'm going to look into In and Out and Liberty. Planning this honeymoon is stressing me out too. I need to book soon, wedding's in 3 months.
