i was wondering if anybody here is getting or has purchased travel insurance for their honeymoon? if you did, what company did you use? my FH and i are thinking about it, but not sure if it's worth it!

I did. I book my HM through the wonderful Tom at amex travel. Amex offers the insurance (very cheap-about $200) and it covers you for any reason.

110% recommend you get travel insurance...god forbid anything happens, you will lose money...I know somebody who booked to go to jamaica, well a few years ago the people started rebelling and attacking all tourists and nobody was allowed into jamaica, this happened the week they were supposed to go...Because they had travel insurance the TA just booked them somewhere else at no charge.
Someone else recently didn't have travel insurance and an unexpected tragedy happened and werent able to leave at that time, they went later but had to pay extra

I bought travel insurance!! We are traveling during hurrucane season and the $240 for the insurance wasn't a big deal compared to the thousands we'd lose if a hurricane hit or god forbid something happened!!

thanks girls! we booked our honeymoon on our own, not through a TA, so i'm nervous that something will happen and we'll be out of thousands of dollars!! i'm definitely going to look into Trip America....any other insurance company recommendations? thanks a bunch!
