Hey! I haven't been on too much lately, how's everyone doing?
I just had a travel question because I might go away with my friend for 3 days at the end of August, and we wanted to go somewhere warm with beaches, but alas, August is hurricane season. I really only want to spend a few hundred dollars. Is there any sorta tropical or beachy places to go in August? Are any parts of FL okay at that time of year?

Re: Travel Question
hmmm, it's supposed to be a big hurricane season this year. They are even predicting that the gulf coast may get hit.......maybe Clearwater....that is usually no too bad.
Does it have to be Fla? What about New Orleans or maybe Vegas?

Re: Travel Question
If I go to Vegas, I know I'll come back a lot poorer. I wanted to go somewhere with nice beaches to just relax.

Re: Travel Question
The ABC islands (aruba, bonaire and curacao) are out of the hurricaine belt but are expensive. About 8 years ago, I went to Cancun in September. Ask your airline customer service person or travel agent if Cancun is somewhat out of the hurricaine belt.

Cancun is not out of the hurricane belt, they can get hit bad sometimes. What about if you drive to Virginia Beach or Lake George?

I was thinking of maybe going to Arizona. I don't think we can go anywhere tropical.

Re: Travel Question
Dh has been to Arizona & loved it, but he said it is kind of weird.... if it is hot during the day (which it usually is) then it is like a ghost town until the sun goes down....but the nightlife is supposed to be pretty great.
