Tree or No Tree ???

Tree or No Tree ???

IT JUST dawned on me that with having our floors refinished, and then needing time to repaint and redo our bedroom, this whole process will postpone if not PREVENT us from putting our tree in our favorite tree spot.
I will NOT have a Christmas with no tree
Should we postpone the floors another month?

(Should be done weekend of the 6th) and with repainting, closet doors, taking down wallpaper, etc etc. I dont know how long that would take. Id say AT LEAST 2 weeks, so that would take us past the middle of december. I Really like to have the tree up in November or first week in December...

Opinions ? I think its worth putting it off a month. I really wanted to see John Anthony's expression as he watches the lights and the tree turning, and the opening of his gifts by the tree.... why didnt I think of this before??
This is the only room we're not touching on the top floor and its the only place we can put my BR furniture without having to carry it downstairs, and its extremely heavy, so leaving it on the same level of the house is a HUGE factor...

LOL, Anna...we are in the same situation! I just realized last week that our reno projects are going to run right into Christmas. DH wants to move full steam ahead; I want to time things so that we can finish a project (probably painting) by the first week of Dec, then take a break til after New Years.

My opinion? Postpone. I'm crazy about Christmas; I absolutely, positively will not go without a tree and lights and the whole hoopla...but that's me!

Do the floors in January!! I put off renovating my kitchen last December for that very reason. There was no way I was having my house ripped apart for Christmas. They came in January instead. I was glad I waited too.

Get a baby tree! I did that last year - it was only about 3 feet tall, but sooo cute! I put it on top of a step-stool and covered the stool with a big tree skirt.

There is not a chance I would spend a Xmas without a tree. One year I was ABSOLUTELY DEVASTATED by a break up but I still dragged a fake tree from my aunt out of the closet and put a bunch of balls on it. At least I ahd something to look at while I laid on teh couch crying under a blanket. BTW, it was many years ago, so don't feel bad for me!!

OK, we're waiting. Whats another month of floors looking hideous

Annie-the little trees dont have the same effect. and Im DYING to see John Anthony's face when he looks at the tree and the lights. I just hope he doesnt yank an ornament and send the tree falling
