Do you tip when you get your make-up & hair trial? If so, how much? I heard mixed reviews on the matter.
Please help! I have a trial this weekend.

Re: Trial....Do you tip?
I tipped, its my personal opinion, but they are still performing a service. Usually is they do a good job and you are really pleased.I tip 20%..the day of my wedding if I am extra pleased..Ill tip extra, if they do a lousy job, wlel then Id have to think about it. Jacqueline Nicole did my trial free, so I tipped her 20 bucks, because she still spent an hour with me and she worked just as hard as if it were my wedding day. For hair trials, I tip 20%. Example: I think my updo was 65 and I tipped about 14. Its up to you, 15% is always good too. If they only do an updo to just give you the idea of how it would look on yoru day without really doing it, that would be less of a tip also. good luck, these are just my opinions and what I did.

Re: Trial....Do you tip?
I did. My trail would of cost me $25 (but since I booked her on the spot my trail was free) and I gave her a $10 tip.

I was confused about this too since they do pocket the entire trial cost as cash. Mine were pretty expensive compared to the other posts about this that I have seen ($40 for makeup and $70 for hair) so I tipped $5 extra each. I think $45 and $75 was more than enough for a trial- especially since I went to her house! I will tip a lot more on my wedding day!

You know what, I didn't tip Jacqueline Nicole, I was so excited that I booked her on the spot and put down a deposit. I feel so bad.
I have an appointment with her this month for eyebrow shaping, so I will be sure to apologize and tip her for both the trial and my eyebrow appointment.

Re: Trial....Do you tip?
I tipped people who I was not even going to book. I felt they worked and did their job. I went for a hair/make-up trial and the bill came to 110 and I tipped 20. I went for another hair trial last week and that was 65 and I tipped 20. I also went for a make-up trial for 25 and tipped 10.
I do tend to tip on the high side though.

Re: Trial....Do you tip?
I think it depends. If they are coming to you, then it may be a nice idea for you to tip them. if you are traveling to them, you could consider not tipping them. But of course if you think they did a fabulous job then go ahead.

Re: Trial....Do you tip?
From what I understand if they work for themselves no you not tip because they get the whole amount if she or he works for a salon ABSOLUTLEY this is what I was told by a make up consultant....but I guess the choice is yours
