I am inviting a friend of my mother's who is divorced. She has had a boyfriend for almost a year now. They do not live together.
Here's the question:
Do I include his name on the outer envelope?
ie Mrs. Jane Smith and Mr. John Doe
Or do I leave it with just her name and his on the inside envelope?

Re: Tricky Invite Question
I would put her name on the envelope, and on the inner envelope have her name and guest, since it may be a given he will be her guest.
When it comes to boyfriends and girlfriends, no matter how long they've been together, if they're not living together, I don't take chances. People break up all the time.

Re: Tricky Invite Question
I will be putting BF and GF names on in those instances where they are serious, LT relationships and we know both people well. FH and I have been together for years and I always liked when we received invites that had both of our names on it... especially in the cases where the 'inviter' (sorry - know that's not a word) knew both of us well.

Re: Tricky Invite Question
I would invite her with a guest. IMO, unless you live together or you're really close with the couple, you should put 'and guest'
