Hi girls so I mailed out my invited today and FH just got off the phone with our best man, and he told us that a couple that we are friends with, who are engaged and living together just split up He is moving out by monday. Here's the tricky part I sent one invite addressed to both how would you handle this?? should we call and let them know they are both welcome to bring a guest now or should we just leave it alone and see how they respond?? I feel so bad for them they have been together for 7 yrs. My mom says to leave it our wedding isnt for a few months and maybe they will get back together. IDK what do you guys think??

Re: tricky invite situation
i would possibly wait..and as the date gets closer and they dont seem to be getting back together let them know they can find another date...
who knows maybe your wedding will rekindle them and they will LOVE eachother again

I would let it sit for a while. If they were together for that long, it's possible they could get back together.

Re: tricky invite situation
I would leave it alone for a bit. See how they respond. They may even say something to you about if they both are going to go and if they are going to bring someone else. They cant expect you to know they broke up when the invitations went out. I would just see what they say this way they are comfortable with whatever decision is made on going ot the wedding

Re: tricky invite situation
Hmmm... offering to let them bring someone else could be tricky. Break ups get nasty. Do you really want them using your wedding to make each other jealous? It could be a fiasco. I would just leave it be. If anything, call them both, offer your support as a friend to both, and tell them that they are both still invited and you can put them at different tables if they both still want to come. But don't give them dates. That could be badddd!

I definitely think you should wait it out.. you never know what could happen in the next month or two!

I agree! leave it alone for now when you get closer to the wedding then you can call them up and see what is going on.

Re: tricky invite situation
yeah! i'm gonna go with the majority here and say wait it out. you never know how it'll pan out and i'm sure they'll suss it out before then. when it's closer, whoever makes the calls for those that don't RSVP, can figure that part out. idk, that's what i'd do. that is a tricky one!

Re: tricky invite situation
Just wait it out. I am in a similar situation- FH's first cousin is getting divorced and I just sent the invite to the both of them at the house and I will let them decide what to do. What can you do????

hmmm... I would wait and see how they respond... they must know that you sent it out before they broke up so Im sure you didnt do it intentionally and they may get back together

Re: tricky invite situation
Technically neither of them said anything to you about the breakup, you heard it from someone else. I would leave it alone and see what happens.
